Typhoon & the Pedal Players

Their time machine is broken and the Pedal Players are stuck in a time continuum; cycling around in circles for centuries, telling the same stories for years and YEEEARS! Will they return to 2017? Or surrender to a lifetime of steampunk storytelling? Join them as they journey across time and space.

Typhoon & the Pedal Players is an interactive, walkabout performance experience for family audiences. Originally commissioned by Open Culture, this new production from Paperwork Theatre premiered at Liverpool LightNight 2017: Time.

Typhoon is a steampunk-inspired cargo bicycle turned Time Machine, powered by a team of actor-musicians called the Pedal Players. Taking inspiration from their locality, Paperwork created a collection of bespoke script, song and sketches especially for LightNight 2017.

After a brilliant response this Light Night, Typhoon & the Pedal Players is back in orbit! But don’t worry, our Pedal Players will be popping up again across the Summer in Cheshire. We’ve been working with Animate! a Heritage Lottery Fund project with Saltscape and MMU to bring stories of Cheshire landscape, culture and heritage to life.
