PAPERWORK THEATRE SEEK 4 ACTOR-MUSICIANS FOR 1 WEEK OF
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW PLAY WITH SONGS 

‘DEEP BLUE’

CASTING INFORMATION

DEEP BLUE is being created in response to the UK’s rising loneliness epidemic, the production will explore themes of loneliness and mental health using storytelling, original song and immersive design.

Inspired by the true account of the world’s loneliest whale, the play will follow one woman as she struggles to connect with the world today.
The whale will be realised through a live music on stage.

For this first stage of R&D we are seeking an ensemble of 4 Actor-Musicians aged between 20-45, to work with Paperwork Theatre’s creative team in exploring the narrative and style of performance. All 4 performers will form an ensemble cast, alongside multi-rolling in various roles such as parent/ flat mate/ work colleague/ storyteller.

Applicants must:
– be comfortable working with scripts and devising
– have a base in the North West

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who can play musical instruments.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Audition will take place on Friday 7th December, Everyman Theatre.
This will be a group workshop including a devising and music task.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Please prepare a 3 minute story using any art form which best showcases your talent.

Fee: Equity/ITC Rates

R & D Dates: Monday 21st – Friday 25th January 2019 (sharing performance on Friday)

ABOUT PAPERWORK THEATRE
We create highly visual and physical storytelling in a range of theatre and non-traditional spaces including red telephone boxes, night clubs, town centres, shopping malls, festivals and libraries. Through our practice, we aspire to attract both regular theatre goers and people who don’t normally access live art by animating spaces in new ways and inviting audiences to experience theatre with us.
The company is led by Co-Artistic Directors by Nicole Behan & Hayley Greggs and Creative Producer Siofra Mckeon-Carter.
